I didn't try opening it up yet, when I connect it and switch on, it's ok, but it slowly goes to that image, would you think it's still a fixable problem?

I dunno.. In our elevators at work, they have placed flat pannel monitors to display weather, quotes of the day, and of course ADs. I noticed after a few months lines started appearing in them, just like the one you found. Progressively they are getting worse. Some of them are almost illegible. I would imagine if there was an easy fix for them the company that is providing them would have them repaired since they are using them for the ad revenues. So my guess is it was in the trash because it was irrepairable, but I have been wrong before..

I agree with you... but what if they dont know what the problem is? The thing is, they wont pay $$$$ just to look if they are repairable... So theyll throw em to the garbage and buy news...
IT may be unrepairable, it may be like an out-of-service remplacable piece... I say you take a look, you never know what you may find ;)

when I connect it and switch on, it's ok, but it slowly goes to that image, would you think it's still a fixable problem? Sounds lke you have broken solder joints or wires. You're symptons are that same as a cold solder join. As the joint heats up it expans ever so slightly. In some cases this can cause the connection to pull apart - as in this case. In other cases I've seen machine start to work after being left on for a while. In those cases the circut was broken until the heat forced it back together.
You are probably looking for hairline cracks between a flex connector and a PCB. good luck finding them. It'll be a fun learning experince digging around in it but don't expect to ever get it running again.

Some of them are almost illegible.Have you reported them? If not, chances are no-one else has either. So the ones responsible might not know there's a problem.

Well I have not personally reported them myself. They have been there for about a year, and I know they are servicing the machines. At least once a month there is a either a linux kickstart error or just a plain old bios post error on one of the screens. :)
