i really want a finish like these on my wheels... http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=319473381455365&set=a.183350361734335.46230.183330305069674&type=1 any ideas on where to buy the rims/ how to make that effect on different types of wheels, and materials? i'm planning on getting some rims soon, and i want that finish for some unknown reason. =P probably because its unique... :D

I have seen that paint on a motorcycle before. It is some expensive paint too. I will try and find the thread on my motorcycle forums and the type of paint (and the name) used.

It's strange because the photo looks less like normal color shift paint and more like . . . the iridescence of an oil spill. It might be a type of anodizing.

That seems to look most like that photo, so no anodizing dye, but a chemical that reacts to parts of the wheel differently during the anodization process resulting in different colors.

I could be wrong. It could still be a fancy paint . . . but it's missing the metal flake look of most color shift paints.

I was thinking it was a close match, but you are right, there is something about the color of the wheel that looks more like the effect in the video.

To me it looks like ALSA mirrachrome or some version of it. Check out http://www.alsacorp.com they have some amazing products.

EDIT:
Did some quick research and apparently its a finish called "Burnt Titanium"

If you google that you will find lots of examples including several different pictures of the wheels in the original post.
