Watching a video online that has a buffer is no problem, but what about streaming videos? Mine play out of sync. I hear the words before their lips even move.
Is there a method of making it work right?
BTW, I'm using IE8 and absolutely will not change.

then your only solution is to write a program that delays all audio output by the amount of lag time.
Honesty, I read that as "seeding online videos...."
Use VLC's lip-sync utility?

absolutely can't fix your problem cause that was my issue with IE7 and why i started using chrome instead. = p

I tried all those and nothing helped, the only thing that did was clicking "set google chrome as default browser" then everything started working flawlessly.
It could also be a hardware problem, but uh... most of us around here are running nitromethane powered topfuel PC dragsters so i suspect thats not the issue.
I'd try the ol' uninstall/reinstall JAVA and flash and see if a update is availabe for your audio card
[edit] you might try that IE9 as well.

Internet Download Manager ... forget streaming, frames, scripts, ActiveX, etc ... just capture locally and play on your terms.

I absolutely will not use anything but IE. I'm stubborn, so I guess I'll just have to ignore the lag

IE is good for Windows Updates ... but even then, IDM can capture/save them before install, allowing one to archive all the applicable updates locally for use offline.

depending on the format, why not just pause to buffer for a bit?

IE is an absolutely awful browser in sooo many ways.
Frankly, it's just time to get over your stubbornness and accept that you're just wrong about I to the E!
It could be a sync issue with the video host or whoever uploaded it. I know youtube sometimes has this issue. I've even had to re-upload a few of mine because once youtube processed them, the audio was out of sync.
