Did you find a shop to mount and bance? I just found a place closer to you I was going to give you the heads up on. Got it written down at home.

Have a good one!

Thanks everyone!

...as it turns out I spent the majority of my birthday:
a) On a conference call for work that was epic-ly unproductive.
b) Lying on the floor, curled up in a ball.
c) Puking my guts out after apparently eating some spoiled cheese for breakfast.

I should note, b was a direct result of the cause of c. ...just re-read that and realized it could easily be misinterpreted. :P

...so, not quite what I was hoping for...oh well, at least I wasn't working?

Yeah, I will be having wherever I get the tires mount and balance them for me. Both wheels are off the bike, so just a matter of dropping them off and I am definitely not set up to do balancing.

If you have a line on a machine shop, yes, definitely send it over. I was talking to a place over in Rockville (near work), but they stopped responding to my emails...so now I'm not only behind on where I wanted to be, I also need to find another shop. :(

This is the place I was thinking of for tires. They are up closer to you. I've dealt with them for small stuff. Had forgotten all about them...

What all are you looking to have done? I know of a couple places depending on what you need.

Hey, they're up near where I used to work. Yeah, I'll drop by; see what they can do for some new tires.

For the machining, what I need is these, the most important piece being the faceplate:

The faceplate and support made of 1/2" 6061. Obviously I can provide exact measurements. ;)

If I see the guy I know Monday I'll ask about a number for you to call. There is a guy I know in Deale, MD that runs a machine shop. He has made stuff that we shouldn't know about, for people who don't exist...

Although another friend of mine knows a company that does laser cutting. That looks more like what you need.

Awesome, thanks! Yeah, laser cutting would be fine as long as they can handle 1/2" 6061.
