Minecraft - can anyone join?

I'm trying to figure out if other people can connect to my Minecraft Server, so if someone can test it out and report back on whether they can connect or not, that would be great!

If you do get in, feel free to play around and do as you like, so long as you respect other players creations!

That would be a big fat no. The address you are providing is not routable across the internet. It is reserved for local area networks. You will need to provide your external ip address and make sure it is port forwarded to the minecraft server.

You can get your external IP address using this webpage:

It's port 25565 (I think) that you need to forward in your router to the local IP address of 192.168.1.6 - there's a good chance that your IP address will be 24.17.149.175 unless comcast changes it regularly - if you don't have a static or semi-static IP address then you'll also need to use some kind of ip site like www.no-ip.com to make it permanently accessible...

I don't suppose there's a simple to understand step by step guide on doing this is there?

It is hard to offer step by step as there are so many different routers and firmwares out there. If youre comfortable with port forwarding it is actually pretty simple

It's not just port forwarding. There's a lot going on in setting up a minecraft server. The port forwarding is whatever, it's everything else minecraft related, step by step, is what I need. Every guide out there is just this long complicated ridiculous thing.

You'd think this would be easy. I don't see why it's not. :/
