I don't have pictures, but the worst I've seen was two 1U servers I bought off Craigslist.

The guy must have been a chain smoker as there was so much dust and tar build up inside the cases. It was so disgusting. I took everything apart, scrubbed each and every component with cotton swaps soaked in rubbing alcohol, and then tossed the entire chassis into the bathtub and scrubbed it for hours.

I don't think I'll ever buy another computer from a smoking home.

Shoulda shown you my brother's computer before the first time we cleaned it out. Not bad, but dust clogged the CPU fins.


Now, that server that was donated to our IT classroom, it looked like they never cleaned it out.
