Hello Kitty:

ROCK STAR

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/hello.gif

I'm doing another kid case for eldest daughter who really wants a Hello Kitty theme PC

The victim case is the Diablotek Fly. The only complaint I have is that the case is rediculously light. I'm not sure if it'll make a difference with all the parts inside, but at least it will get heavier

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/fly.jpg

I love the brushed aluminum interior, except that it's going away

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120084.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120088.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120089.jpg

I took the hard drive cage out. It will retain it's natural color to give the interior a cool contrast

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120095.jpg

My daughter gave me little direction or advice. Her only desire, it had to be RED

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120113.jpg

The front had two layers of mesh filters. You'd really need a high RPM fan to pull air through all of that

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120116.jpg

The front got the same cherry red treatment

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120117.jpg

Even with so many years of modding, there will always be new supplies to try out. This time I'll be using some spray on glitter and the matching sealant

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120118.jpg

This one shows how well it looks

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120140.jpg

I found this round mesh in my piles of PC stuff

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120145.jpg

After I repainted it to silver I used hot glue to bond it to the bezel

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120159.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120146.jpg

I think that silver would be the right color with the whole Rock Star look. Looks cool

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120160.jpg

Next, the slot covers and mesh drive bays were painted to match

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120151.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120152.jpg

While it dries, I cut a 120mm top exhaust

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120153.jpg

And reconnect the USB ports

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120154.jpg

Once they're all dry I put the slot covers in leaving the second slot open for the video card

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120163.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120164.jpg

And after the interior dries, I put the drive bay cage back inside

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120167.jpg

And the drive bay covers

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120169.jpg

The specs? A matching DVD drive

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120161.jpg

Intel i3 2100 processor and a Gigabyte motherboard

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1110877.jpg

Two 4GB sticks of Corsair Vengeance LP

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1110878.jpg

A 120GB Sandisk SSD

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100629.jpg

An Oveclocked GTX 550 (yeah, way over-kill! for a 13 year old Girl)

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1110982.jpg

And I might as well use this spare 1000 Watt power supply! More of that Over-kill.

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120141.jpg

I don't like that the PSU is not modular and I might literally cut off all the wires I'm not using

I added 120mm intake and exhaust fans. They're both Masscool brand and not too bad of an off-brand pushing 60CFM's each

I may not have any authority here, but I'm putting my foot down anyway. There are to be NO bieber cases on TBCS. Not even one. /endBadJoke

With that out of the way, nice work as always TGS. I sort of like the sparkles. They turned out better than expected. That and textured paints...it's amazing what they can get to come out of a can these days!

I added the top fan as well as some decoration

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120183.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120184.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120185.jpg

Quite frankly, the PSU has far too many cables that I won't be needing. So I had to void the warranty and cut off the excess

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120200.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120199.jpg

I'm left with SATA, 8-pin CPU, 24 pin, and a 6+2 Pin GPU line

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120201.jpg

I used thumb screws to hold it in because I think it looks better

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120203.jpg

I got this little guitar that's actually for the American Girl doll line

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120207.jpg

It looked red online, but it's clearly pink

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120208.jpg

Here's where it's going to go

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120209.jpg

But first it needs to be red

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120225.jpg

This is actually pretty detailed, with strings

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120227.jpg

Now for the decal

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120216.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120217.jpg

And the filters need to go back in

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120218.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120219.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120220.jpg

Now to throw it all together

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120231.jpg

I just put the SSD in

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120232.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120233.jpg

And now I need to start planning the window

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120237.jpg

I cut out the window

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120281.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120282.jpg

And the paint job begins

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120284.jpg

And at the same time finish the paint on the right side

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120283.jpg

Now it's time to add the motherboard

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120305.jpg

I really wanted to run an air cooler, but I never found one I like, so I went with the tried and true H60!

I can install this blindfolded!!

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120309.jpg

I didn't want water for the kids, but that's cool

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120310.jpg

I'm suprised that mobo doesn't have a NB heatsink.

That right side panel needs a huge Hello Kitty face!

I'm suprised that mobo doesn't have a NB heatsink.

There's a heatsink on the Z77 chip. It's right above the CMOS battery between the two PCIe x16 slots. It's anodized blue with the Gigabyte logo on it.

Remember, there no longer is a North Bridge chip!

I added a card reader that already comes with the silver face plate

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120313.jpg

Then the LED feet that my daughter wanted on the case

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120314.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120317.jpg

Time for Windows 7 and about 10 Hello Kitty Wallpapers on rotation

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120319.jpg

My daughter really wanted to start using the computer so this is the best pic I could get of the window!

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1120320.jpg

COMPLETE!!
