ok, so i need one of these

http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:27884

but i do not have access to a 3d printer. i could buy a pre-printed one but they are sold for about $70 and up.

so, does anyone here have a 3d printer that would print one up for me for a small fee?

thanks

I have access to one. I'll have to see how much it costs. I'm also going to be working on a project to print. I'll let you know when I'm ready.

What's the scale of that model? What's the volume of the model? What are you using it for? I need to know this because I have to make a case for anything I print. It needs to somehow be related to school. Again, I'll see what I can do, but I can't make any promises. It'll still cost money. It costs me money to use. The laser printer is free for me to use, but not the 3D printer.

Doesn't CJ have one?

it's 9cm long and hollow. other than that, i don't know the exact dimensions or volume.

it's a small scale WOPR computer that would be just the right size to build an android mini pc in. so yeah, it's not school related. :whistler:

Could design and cut one on my laser. Or you can design it and I'll cut it for way cheap.

does your laser do 3d cuts and stuff?
it would seem to me that it would have to act more like a milling machine to make a 3d model, no?

You can cut all the layers separately then stack and glue.

It doesn't matter that it isn't totally school related. I just have to make it sound school related.

Doesn't do 3D. It does fake 3D, multiple engraving passes to produce a 3D effect... but that takes a lot of machine time. It does flat parts really well.

Since the file is already set up for 3D printing, I'd go with that if you can get someone to print it.

Hit up CJ ( OneslowZ28 ) He is working on one for someone and has been doing a bunch of prints to get it all tuned up. He might be able to squirt one out for ya. :)

How big does it need to be? Stock scale as shown on thingiverse?

Also there will be an issue with the overhangs and it may require a good bit of time with a razor knife to clean things up. I have the printer for tonight only so if you want this, hit me up and shoot me an email. cjgantt at gmail

I was going to ask $25 plus 3 shipping but the corner lifted so $15 plus shipping sound fair?

Yeah that sounds fair. Is it the large one...9cm long?
