I found this on hardforum. It works i did it last night and is a legit copy.for 15$ i couldn't pass it up.

here is the link http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1724643

Got a notice of this deal through SD. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Go here.
Step 2: Fill out the form, it'll take anything, just as long as you put the date of "PC purchase" after June 2012. It won't check for validity It will give you a Registration ID.
Step 3: Paste that Registration ID number into this form. It will give you a promo code. Copy that promo code, and download the Windows Update Assistant from that page.
Step 4: Run Windows Update Assistant. It will show the cost to be $39.99. Click order. After you put in all your information and payment info, it will land on a confirmation page. This is where you paste that promo code to get $25 off, hence buying it for $14.99 total.
Step 5: After you place the order, it will give you a product key and take you to the download page.
Step 6: It will download, then ask how you want to install it. Click the install later with media, and choose the ISO image. You can then burn the ISO onto a DVD and there you go!
Just purchased a copy myself. I believe the limit is 5 per IP.
Enjoy

$15 to turn my computer into a giant touchscreen-less smartphone? I think not.

Thanks for the link though.

I'd more than likely get a copy to get rid of my aging XP install... If I could nuke Metro.

In the meantime, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_alternative_shells_for_Windows

I jumped on this. I'll put the ISO on DVD and wait a while before I put it on a machine.

Is there a way to downgrade after installing it? Is there a way to install 8 without a CD ROM Drive?

Since it's designed for netbooks and tablets, there darn well better be a way to install it from something other than a CD-Rom.

You can install from USB. It will give you the option to save the install as an iso or on a USB. Choose USB and you can go from there. Also, you can just upgrade within windows 7.
