Looks like the University of Wisconsin (my shcool) has come up with a new engine.

I've seen several diesel cars in town converted to run on resturaunt cooking oil and since this hybrid is also a diesel design we might be able to incorporate the two and end up with fuel effecient gasless vehicle.
