So, I've been working on a new rendering technique this semester. I think I'll refine it next semester to give it a more refined look, but for the urban planning I did this semester I think it worked really well.

My only critique of it as a whole is that it looks a little comic-book-like, which might not be received well by those who look at it. It doesn't help that I was in a rush and did each in about two hours, some a little more, some a little less.

Let me know what you think!

They look good, especially considering the time in each one. the only one that looks comic bookish to me is the interior view, and that isn't bad.

I think the interior one could benefit from the use of some lighting and shadows. Same goes for the exterior. I think that's the part that my eye is missing. I am assuming these are rendered in Sketchup from a 3D model.

Line work is by hand. Color is by hand in photoshop.

There's some suggestion of shadow done by the way I color it, but it really could use a new layer that's just shadows.

That's why I think the elevation is as appealing as it is. I added a layer and added a shadow under the eaves and overhangs really quick.

That's some really nice hand work. I know how to do that stuff, and I know it's super time consuming. Great stuff.

Are you doing the line work on vellum and scanning it in, or are you drawing right on a digitizer?

Either way, I think it looks good.

It's done on trace then scanned in. In this case another person in my group did the line work and I did all the coloring.
