Light on the bling but heavy on the hack, I merged a portable TV into a PC.
Almost all the components for this project came from from the trash or discarded equipment.

LMAO. Thats sweet. It looks ood. I don't think I've seen a TV in a PC, LCD yes, but an old CRT TV, no. Good job.

How about heat? That tv has to get warm after a while.
Still, very cool and not seen with tubed sets.

Only other one I've ever seen that uses a tube is a kaypro II mod.

REminds me of something from the 80's sci fi movies. Great work and clever.

Actually it stays pretty cool. After running it for an hour even the neck
of the tube (where the orange filament is) gets only slightly warm to the touch.
Toward the bottom of the case it looks like there are two teeth sticking out,
those are the switches for display power and reset (the gateway PC didn't have
a reset button). I usually just shut the display off when Im done using the
console.
Eventually, Id like to make a PLD that senses DPMS sync loss. But for now,
the on/off switch does the job.

Is that an ABIT motherboard? Im suspecting a Bxx family. These are really nice mobos. Ive got a BE6-II for my P3, and it overclocks very easily. I hope you overclocked that thing :)

It's a an ABIT-VH6T. Agreed, ABIT motherboards are very flexible and stable (at least of this era). I also have a BH6 board with a 1ghz PIII (on a slocket, running at 133mhz on a 440bx chipset). It has been rock stable for years. Im using it to type this message.

By comparison, I bought an MSI KT7 new and it failed not even after a year of use because of leaking capacitors.
