form factor doesn't really matter. I want to make a file server with some left over parts I have. I would like to have the I/O shield included with the board but wouldn't break a sale if the right board came along.

Needs to support Core 2 Quad and DDR2 (4gb min), I am specifically going to use a Q9300 or Q9450 depending on the board.

Would like on the board;
1x PCIe x16 (2 for sli would be nice but not required)
2x Sata2 3g (minimum 2, 4+ would be ideal)
2x PCI (yes PCI, NOT x1, x4...etc)

I am not wanting to spend more than 50 shipped.

Thanks,
Outlaw

Thanks and no worries. Looks like it would have been perfect though. lol

I just bit the bullet last night on an Intel DP35DPM on ebay. Ad claimed it was new for 47 shipped.

Looking again. My 680i passed away a few weeks ago :(

Looking for same specs as OP. If I can't find a decent board, I may have a few more parts to add to my fs thread (cpu and ram)

Thanks,
Outlaw

Huh? I am still looking for cheap 775 board.

Would like on the board;
$50 shipped budget (depending on board, may go a little higher)
8GB DDR2 support
1x PCIe x16 (2 for sli would be nice but not required)
2x Sata2 3g (minimum 2, 4+ would be ideal)
2x PCI (yes PCI, NOT x1, x4...etc)

Doh! I thought this was the thread I had started. I guess . . . maybe due to trying to do too much too late last night, maybe partly due to the new look, that this was the thread I started looking for an LGA 775 board.

I have one around here. I could never get it to post even though the guy on ebay said it was working. I can send it to you if you want. If you can toss shipping my way that's great. If not you can wait a little bit til I have some money to put towards shipping it out and I'll front that cost myself.

It's a 650i chipset, SLI capable. Your price and requirements are like . . . exactly the same as what I posted before. Your post is a little uncanny to mine at first glance. Sorry about the error.

Lol No worries. I couldn't ask you to cover shipping.

If it's not working. I might have to pass. I already have 2 sitting on my desk. Going to be able to make a MB wall like TGS. lol

Sent pm though.

Thanks, Outlaw

Shucks, I went to look at the one that I have that I thought would meet your criteria and it met most with one small exception... it's a BTX board :(

It is! Hmm . . . I might be interested.

Do you have a model for the board? Price?

Might be easy enough to mod the back of the case to fit, lol. Cut... Cut.. flip.. drill.. rivit.. done? lol I'd be interested if d_stilgar doesn't take it.

No luck on the pm d_stilgar?

Thanks,

Sorry, just saw the PM.

I really don't have time to be messing with a BTX board and I'm not sure how much of the BTX case I have is there, so I'm not really that interested, so it's all yours Outlaw.

The more I look into this board the more disappointing it's looking. Board is out of a Dell PowerEdge SC430. Not entirely sure that it adheres to the BTX format entirely but the layout of the back panel matches. I/O shield is actually part of the case so it would likely need some custom work. While trying to find out if it is BTX compliant I found out that it only supports up to a Pentium D (800MHz FSB). The release notes for the BIOS updates only list support for new steppings and not new CPUs so I doubt it would take even a Q6xxx series CPU. Most of the specs can be found here (ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_poweredge/poweredgesc-430_User%27s%20Guide2_en-us.pdf), though there are some updates that they haven't added.

Thanks for looking.

Like you said, i don't think it is going to be worth the effort to make it work in a case. d_stilgar is going to ship me his board. Hopefully it works, otherwise I may just look to fleabay.

Thanks everyone!
Outlaw

**UPDATE**

Thanks for the help everyone!
