Now I know that seedling that has been started tnds to do better then a plant just tossed in the ground. So I was trying to figure out a way to create a mini green house just like when you buy a little kit in the garden center at Walmart. Now I have a messy desk and lots of the Walmart brand sports drink bottle that for some reason never make it to the trash can which is like 2ft away. Then I thought mybe they would be good containers so it was time to mod.

First I removed the labels and washed out any remaining drink that was in the bottle.

So once they were clean I needed to figure out a good way to reduce the size and make it so I can get to the seedlings easily. These bottles are nice because if they are cut where I marked the one in the following pic they had this little lip that would sit inside the bottom just a little bit and keep the lid from flopping all over.

Now I had a little lid and cup that would hold heat and moisture inside and be easily accessible.

Since I wasn't going to use the lid anymore I ran a bead of hot glue around the lip then set 4 more dots on the outside to make sure the heat and moisture stayed inside.

I painted the bottoms black to refect heat around if I were to place the greenhouse in the sun or under my glow lamp. Now they look almost professional. The lids would still move a little but a couple of dots of hot glue on the lip of the cup helps keep the lid from moving.

Right now I have about 6 of these done up and 3 already have approx 8 plants sprouting after only a week.
