As many of you may know, I've been in a living situation that can only be described nicely as "rough". I've had no room for case modding or any other art or design projects for a very, very long time.

Well, I found out today that our application for a duplex unit was approved, and I get to move next week. This is very, very exciting news for me and my fiance. I won't have the garage I was hoping for yet, so I still won't be able to do much case modding, but I'll have room for lots of other art stuff and will be able to do a bunch of reviews and such much more frequently once we get settled in, so watch for that.

Anyway, I just found out, and am stoked about it and thought I'd share it with you guys.

WOOHOO!!!

We'll be moving it all ourselves. We're not moving too far - about 30 miles from where we are staying. The place is about half a mile from the garage of the house we were trying to tear down, which we still will be tearing down but we couldn't wait any longer. A lot of our stuff is being stored in that garage, so it is only a few trips back and forth to move the majority of it.

Great news Ranken!! So is this a temporary spot until you can move into the place you have been talking about? and will we see any progress on the Arcade mod!?!? :D

Well, Arcade mod still on hold until we get the larger place with the garage, but with any luck I can finally at least do smaller mods. I've got a TON of ideas in my sketchbook, including the awesome-est heavy metal mod ever conceived of by man.

Most likely it will be smaller component mods, like the Rumble Mouse Mod I've been wanting to do and a Classic Gaming system for the time being, at least until we get more room. Not much room at the moment for sanding or painting, I don't think. I dunno though, we'll be moving in next week and I'll have a better idea of what I'm working with.

I've got some individual components for the Arcade Mod in progress, like the light bars and things of that nature, that may make a come-back, but I'm still not ready to tackle a big project like that until I've got more room to work. My father-in-law (to be) is at the tail end of finishing his metalworking shop, however, which will prove a very valuable resource when the time comes.

Do you plan to tear down that house yourself? Thats what i do for a living. Great stress reliever.

Hell, wanna come a little bit south and make some american dollars? hehehe

Yeah, I've got a Galaga cabinet I'm converting and restoring. It's been a long time since I've gotten much done on it, though, due to circumstance.

Do you plan to put the galaga game back into it? You can get new game boards that'll give you like 50+ games.

Coincidence? From where i was working on thursday i could see over the boarder :) 8th ave

Actually, I was planning on putting a modded Xbox into the cabinet, along with all sorts of neat effects and such.

You'll see.
