Very Nice!!

However, I'm sure a modder of your talents could do a little better with the cables....:?

Shame on you!! ;)

How about some plex tube, frosted, with some LED's maybe?

Gotta look better than those bare cables.

Otherwise SWEEEEEEEEEEEET

Magnificent. I was contemplating a custom dual-mon enclosure whenever I would get to building my computer. You have beaten me to it by about a year AND with an extra LCD :). Respects! Is it only a fascia or a complete enclosure? Can you adjust the individual screens if desired? Any chance you will share with us how it was built?

Defyant; I'll trade you lives.

You can come and live in middleofnowhere, California, in my condo, and I can go to Australia to your house.

Deal?

Wow. That is simply amazing. I wish I had 1 LCD, let alone 3 in a workshop. And if I'm wishing for stuff, I wish I could make something like that :P Very, very cool.

Hey

What do you use to run those three screens.

Two graphics cards in SLI mode or do you have one of the matrox break out boxes.

I hope you know that there are PCI video cards.

I have a computer with a PCI and a AGP video card running 3 CRT's.

I know this is a complete noob question but how do you get three screens connected. Two is obvious but you got me on the third. If it's a specific graphics card can you send me a link as I have just started a new machine but need an up to date card so any suggestions are appreciated

isn't that just a benefit of dual link dvi? running two screens that is?
other possibility is also from matrox, those box things that run 3 monitors by tricking your pc into thinking it has a 3840 by 1024 resolution.
or you could just have multiple vid cards :P

I'm a bit confuggled by the 2 monitors into 1 adaptor but i'm sure i'll get sumthing sorted. Need to find the money to buy more than one flatscreen first!

I geuss nobody saw my post.

There are PCI graphics cards. 2d only. The test computer behind me has a GeForce 4 and one of those PCI cards. It can run 3 moniters.

ok, here is a question. How do I get a wallpaper to stretch across two monitors? I have an X800 with Catalyst 6.4 and Hydravision and I cannot find the option where i can set a single wallpaper to roll through both the monitors. What I am getting now is the same wallpaper twice on the two monitors.

Select the wallpaper you want and put it on "center"

Doesn't work like that dude... It just shows two copies of the same wallpaper on the two monitors.

But I downloaded Ultramon and that seems to make it work fine.

How've you got the dual monitors setup?

It sounds like you have them cloning the display, instead of spanning it.

DaveW
07-04-2006, 08:12 AM
Can't you make the wallpaper like double the width of one screen? Or triple in this case...

care to share where you got the plexi for that ? I am working on a project very much like this ( but dual mons) and there isnt a local place that sells decent acrylic.

Go to Home Depot. They have a assload of plexi and stuff. The have enough plexi for you to build a house out of.

damn i love those monitors. i saw some guy do something similar, but with one monitor, and he took the innards out and mounted it in plexi. looked awesome.

you should fix the taskbar though. the start button should be on the far left, then it flooows nicely.

08-25-2006, 04:09 PM
yeah I checked home depot and lowes they didnt really have anything I mean they had sheets of 1/8th plexi but it was all in crap shape and only had 40x60 sheets for $80 a pop I was hoping to get some quality plexi for about that price not just the basic crap they sell @ home dep. because I want to do some custom etchings in mine with lots of green LEDS.

I'm just wondering Defyant, did you ever think to take off the cruddy boring old bezels of the monitors? You can get the actual TFT screens within about 0.5cm of each other. It looks mega-l33t anyways, though :D
