Apparently when you drive at those speeds your brain reaches the limit of information that it can handle. So you can only safetly drive at something like 120mph max.
I don't know how fast 300km/h is in mph.

120 mph = 120 * 1.609 = 193 km/h...

How fast you can safely drive has a lot of variables.
I havn't got into the motorized speed records. I don't want a ticket. I have gone 45mph on a longoboard though. If you want to know how scary that is, next time you are going 45 in your car open the door and look at the ground.

Ive gove 230 kmh in a ford areostar minivan. I thought that was pretty intresting considering it was a farm road lined with telephone poles and a narrow shoulder.

Information from your nerves travels at 300kmh to your brain. So if you go faster than that. your actually seeing a slightly delayed image. Its only a few thousandths of a second but thats all it takes for somthing to go wrong.

I believe that's not right, Don't the nerve-pulses go as fast as near the speed of light? that should be about 300 km per second
or maybe I'm wrong.. actually I don't know very much about the biology thing...

I've done 200km/h before, Nissan Pathfinder on I-5 (Interstate 5, Headed south towards LA).
But yeah, Hayabusa's are mad fast.

My dad's gotten speeding tickets in marin on his skateboard doing 70+.
They called it Skeleton-Boarding, it's basically 70's-80's luge.
Funny thing, is that marin/marin headlands (both near SF) are really hilly, so he actually tried to run from the cop, and he was beating the cop until the uphill started agian...

45 standing is different than 70 laying down. That is way intense though. I havn't tried to beat any speeed records for a while. I recently got a leather jeacket though, and after I get a motorcycle helmet I'll try again.

you're right, 45 standing is different than 70 laying down. It's a 25MPH difference. Put it this way, though...
If you're doing 45, and you fall off, you'll get hurt pretty bad, and scratched up by the road. If you're doing 70 and you fall off, you'll get hurt alot worse and more than just "scratched up".
Anywho, I probably won't be the guy you'll ever see doing 150mph down the freeway. I'll probably be the guy you see sliding his car at a 75 degree angle while doing Gymkhana.
I <3 Gymkhana.

Well, besides, I seriously doubt that your dad is doing 70+ when the record is 77 on a rocket powered luge.

why not I did 120Km\h on my bike on a big hill in here, but i'm teling you, you dont wanna do that the second time,
So it all depends on tle slope, ouu and a nother thing because its a record i'm preaty shure it was an a FLAT pice of ground

Yeah, I don't think that stil caught the hill part. He took me for a ride in his car down this hill, It's pretty steep, with hairpin turn after hairpin turn.

hehe, i cant really match the sheer speeds you guys have here, but ive done fast in some odd situations...
ive done about 160km/h uphill in a volvo S70 on my way to university.
ive clocked myself at 68km/h on a regular old pedal bike. i was beating cars. ive hit 75 going downhill, peddling as hard as i can.
ive also gone about 100km/h on water. similarly, ive done about 40 on a water tube... the thing is a 9 foot circle, and it will fly at those speeds, but not very stable. i ended up hitting the water so hard i took the stitching out of my gloves..
and to top it off, we have a huge hill near my place that gets shut down during the winter because of snow. i remember one time i went down it with a crazy carpet. i dont know how fast it was, but i accidentally slid into a parked car. lets just say it was fast enough to put a dent in the car, and dislocate my shoulder.
