This will be a unique scenario or a hoax. Something like this will very rarely happen, although the laptops are designed to accept 'all interference' which includes electronic interference that could cause what we call "Catastrophic Failure" or a scenario where failure is terminal to the applience/application or where failure will cause harm.
I know it sounds like i got that from google, but i actually speak like that.

Mmmmm.... Maybe some of the wires got burn out on some part thats hot in the laptop & the whole thing did a chain-reaction of flames when thought out tha laptop OR There was a part that was over heating & it over heated the battery.

all i have to say here is confrence. i dont know how many of you have been to confrences but let me tell you my friends they are boreing as hell. they make you sort of turn into this zombie state and fall asleep. even if you had like 23 hours of sleep before the damn thing. you will also note that there is a glass of what appears to be water (or vodka ... mmm... anyways) on the table near by. i think it is potentially plausable to say that this confrence goer could have perhaps been starting to doze off and went for the glass of water either accidently spilling it on or in the laptop keyboard area in a sufficant ammount so as it acctually overwhelmed the keyboard and got onto the battery caseing and or power plug areas. as always i blame the user lol for those of you who know the magic blue smoke theroy of electronics i think its safe to say that he definately let it out
