Anyone know a website such as jobs.com that show jobs for 15 or 16 year olds? When I turn 16 I want to put my application in for some jobs but I dont know exactly where a 16 year old can work besides a McDonalds or a local grocery store thats why I want a place that show the jobs available online.

16 year olds can't work at many places if you don't have an inside connection. I've never seen a nationwide website for hiring teens because most jobs are craptastic, and you'll have to deal with that until you get more school under your belt. Sorry, we all had to do it.

Well my sister works at sonic and she is get a lot of money from there just in tips(approxamentally $100 just in tips a day) and shes only 15. Theres truly many of places that hire 16 year olds but I dont know where to look besides like McDonalds and the nearest grocery store. I wanted to get a job at my uncles business that does home repairs but its against the child labor laws to work there, I mean he can pay me with under hand cash but I dont know if he is willing to do that. I also could work at a restaurant that my uncles the manager at but I want to try to find a job if possible at a place that is not dealing with food.

Usually the child labor laws only dictate how many hours you can work and how late you can work during the week. I am not aware of any child labor law banning a 16 year old from working in a home repair shop unless it is a union shop, then it is NOT the labor law, it is the union regs.

I started working when i was 15.5 There are lots of places that will hire a youngster. Retail is good right now. Lots of construction going on. Janitorial, Painting, Wearhouse work.

If you cant find anything, go to a temp agency. They'll get you working asap.

Im talking about doing construction and such.

Where would I find a temp agency?

Well, a phone book for starters.

You could go to your local unemployment line. This would be the best bet i think.

Work for yourself fixing other people's computers.

I do that from time to time. You get paid more if you do it for friends, too.

When i do it, i don't charge. If they can't afford it, they can owe me a favour. If they can, they'll usually slip me some cash.

That's waht I mean. When I do it (which is hardly ever), I charge very very little (like, 5$ for people I know, 10-20$ dor those i don't), but they insist on paying me more. If they can. If they can't, then they do some other act of kindness.

I do that type of work professionally and after doing it 40 hours a week, it's a strech sometimes coming home and working on systems. It's mentally exhausting to juggle lots of issues, which is commonplace.

It is the worst thing in the world to have a passion or interest in something in Your spare time but also have the same job too. It's horrible when the two clash 'cos You can just end up loosing interest in either and that just ends up being counter productive. If You have a **** job it makes coming home better, but it makes it harder for You to get up in the morning!! It's a bummer.

I'm not a morning person anyway. Good thing I work for a place that doesn't mind me being 15 minutes late every day. If I could I would wake up around noon, be at work about 2 and stay until midnight 4 days a week, then have a 3 day weekend every weekend. But, that's not realisitic.

Yea, I go through waves of being burnt out. I'm about a month away from starting another one.

I have a good job with good pay. I make more than enough money for a 22 year old to live.

once your 16 you could work for best buy. then when you turn 18 you could try to get into geek squad (fixing computers). speaking of geeksquad i was kinda mad when yesterday i outsmarted one of them.

geeksquad is a joke.

This is my opinion, but until about 19/20 the jobs kids should have need to be hard work for bad pay. Eat some crow. You'll learn to appreciate what you have more later from it. When I was 16 I quit my paperboy job to work in a fast food restaurant and did odd jobs in the summer destroying houses & installing farm fencing. That's tough work and paid horribly, but I'm a better person for doing it. I've learned how nice it is to have a job where the worst thing I have to do is crawl around under desks and run cables in drop ceilings.

Be a janitor for a summer. Every desk job you have later in life, you will remember what it's like cleaning up after other people and realize how good you have it. You will also learn to treat the people that clean up your workspace better.
