Just curious to see what our members are using for Central Processors these days.

Only reason I've got the Intel is because I won it from TGS.

I've been a big Intel fan for many years, and still have Intel in my machine now, but I'm no fanboy and won't get into a dumb argument about which is better. AMD and Intel have stayed pretty well on par with each other, especially when it comes to gaming framerates. You'll see no huge gain in FPS one way or another.

I haven't had an update in years, I'm still running a Q9550. Gets the job done still and I don't see any point in fixing what isn't broken considering that there are parts of my machine that actually are. Can't wait to get the Revo Drive 3 up and since the CPU wasn't ever the bottleneck before it will be interesting to see if it is now. I'm guessing the RAM will be though.

With the exception of one computer that i had to use a celeron by accident, I've always used amd. They just are cheaper for a really decent machine. But that being said, I've read Intel is better at encoding DVD video, so my next computer will probably have a nice quad core Intel.

Videocards are even better then any CPU at encoding/decoding =)

I only have Intel due to the Retail Edge program. I love getting cheap processors. lol if AMD's program was as nice I would run an AMD chip. I have a special place in my heart for AMD, as my first Compy I built from scratch was a k6-2 lol. (ps, it was a 500mhz chip lol)
