Currently, I have a slight problem with one of my mod ideas, and it seems either noone knows the answer, or noone is looking at my idea. I need to see whether it is possible to use an active dual card PCI riser on a Asus M2NPV-VM. This is a fairly essential part of my idea, please respond when possible. Thanks.

Hmm.. Did a bit of poking around on the web. I reckon an active dual card PCI riser should work unless that the Asus board has a really plain in the ass bios. I'm interested to see what you need a dual pci riser for.

I need it for Dual Dual PCI TV Tuner cards, X-Fi Elite Pro and a PCI SATAII RAID card. I'm still finalising details for the Mod Idea, but it's going to be one hell of a mod!

Edit: btw, thanks for that. It helps a lot, it means it might be possible, if not, I'm going to have a little extra to experiment with something else.

There's a TV tuner card with 2 cards built in...it's the Dvico Fusion HDTV. (http://www.theglowlounge.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/637) I don't know about the avaliablility of this produce in the US but it should solve your problem. Comes with a remote too.

When I say Dual Dual TV Tuners, it means I'm adding in 2 Dual TV Tuners, giving me the ability to record upto 4 channels at one time! (Yes, I am insane) Also, the MCE2005 package I'm looking at includes a remote. I want a max of 2 remotes only.

God, he's crazy! Think of the children, man!

;)

You sure you need to watch 4 channels at once?

Well, being able to record 2 channels in HD (good for movies) and then be able to record another 2 channels for other things, always is an advantage. It's not as crazy as you think!

Are you really going to record 4 things at one time? Thats the only way to justify that setup.

There has been occasion where I record 3 things at once and switch between 2 channels.
