thers the 2 IDE cables, 1 that goes to my hard drive and one that goes to my dvd drive. im getting round IDE cables soon and i was wondering if there was i difference between the two, are there ones just for hard drives ,or are there ones dvd drives, or are they universal?

The cables are universal. The round ones are supposed to give you better airflow but some people like the ribbon cables because you can fold them.

IDE is IDE is IDE. Some cables have different colored connectors, some are cable select, some are E-IDE, but if it says IDE, it'll work with IDE anything.

Just make sure not to mic IDE up with 50pin SCSI.

are those uv reactive or does the EL wire plug into somthing?

I'm not sure, but I think the EL wire plugs into something. On the pic, you can kinda see a little wire coming off the right side, I think that might what connects to something, but again, I'm not sure.

Hard Drives and CD/DVD drives use the same IDE connector but be carful as floppy drives use a simalar connector that will not work with your HDD or CD/DVD

also from what ive seen EL wire does connect to you power supply to make it light up

ok im not running a floppy though , just a dvd drive and my hard drive
