Time to greet the 360's sleek body, and put the Original Xbox in a new sleek exterior.
First up: is it possible to pull it off without super heavy modification of the interior?
Do i need some kind of special chassi in that case, or is a standard Miditower fine?
Is it possible to plug a fan or two into the existing power system or should i have one in the chassi for that?
In that case, how do i bypass the fans so they go rolling as i turn the switch on the power supply?
Final: Is there any resellers for Carbon Fibre texture tape in europe, i would really like to fit some of that on it.
lots of question, hope there are enough answers for them :p

It should be quite possible. I know that the optical drive does have an awkward power connector, but is operated via 40-pin IDE. The hard drive is also IDE, with a molex connector. I put a cathode on my xB awhile ago.
I don't know about motherboard mounts, but you _might_ be able to align the holes properly.
A standard midtower should be fine. The HD and CDrom have to be on the same IDE channel, however.
Hope this limited knowledge helps.

Hell, If you want, I can open up my xB and take out the drives to ensure they fit ( I Have an extra case that's doing...nothing.)

Look for something called "Yoshi's Box" on Google.. this guy put an Xbox, a PS2, and a couple other systems into a tower WITH a computer as well.
As far as putting the Xbox into a PC case, it's easier than you'd think. Once you open the Xbox, you'll see what I mean.. it's essentially a PC in there anyways. I'm considering doing this too, just because my freakin' Xbox keeps overheating on me. (It's an old v1.0 xbox)
The HDD is a standard 3.5" drive, and the dvd drive is a slim unit with a regular tray. As mentioned by Omega, they both use standard 40 pin IDE cable but the DVD drive uses a strange proprietary power connector, and the xbox wont boot if that's unplugged (so replacing the drive with a regular dvd drive is a no go).
I've been modding Xbox's all year, so I'll be happy to try and answer whatever questions you might have. :)
thats cuz yoshi is crazy awesome....
he used to be the modding guy on TSS(the screen savers) on tech tv before g4 took it over:(
