Funny stuff!

Took a friend of mine out diskgolfing a couple of months ago. He always thought we were just tossing plastic around like at the beach so how hard can it be?

He USED to make fun of us, but since he started going disking with us every week, he has new found respect for the sport. Hehe he really got a laugh when I told him about the PDGA...

I stopped ball-golfing about 6 years ago, because it got too costly for me. I got bored with the 9 hole local course and started going to the proffesional courses here, but now refuse to pay $50 (plus mandatory carts at some courses) just to smack a ball around... Not to mention the fact that I have been playing on OLD used clubs and am NOT paying for a new set. I could replace my snowboard, boots and bindings for less than the cost of a good set of clubs...

Disks cost me between $5-10 each and last for a couple of years, and course fees range from free to $5.

Wow...our disc course is free here in town...I go out a bit here and there but when it only costs me 18 bucks to play 18 holes of regular golf WITH a cart...I can't pass it up...I am going this afternoon!

Disc Golf is cool though, I must agree...we had a tournament here in town last year, I was suprised at how many people were there to play. Hundreds...

Well our course is "technically" free, our club just asks for $1 donation for upkeep and such. DeLaveaga Disk Golf Club. DeLa as the locals call it is probably one of the hardest courses in the world. 27 holes of trees and canyons littered with poison oak and Blackberry brambles. The disk golf course actually parallels the ball golf course for a couple of holes.

There isn't even a par 3 9hole ball golf course here for $18, I am jealous.

Yeah but then I would have to move to another state with a beach close by. No gulf states for me (been there done that). Not gonna join the other million peeps moving into oregon and washington is just too gloomy and cold for me (thats why I left colorado). Besides, ball golf is just not that important right now...

Gloomy and cold?

Right now, out the window of my office, it is a wonderful 82 degrees witha slight breeze, clear blue skies and gorgeous mountains covered in trees.

I love Washington. The only problem with it is all of the Californians moving up here ruining the view! :p

Kidding, kidding. I love California, and yes, Washington can be cold and gloomy. We're just lucky this year. Most of the time we all get together and pray that summer comes on a weekend this year.

Heh Yes my S-I-L lives in seattle (visiting her in august) and she l;oves it up there. She has been lucky with the weather. She travels about 60% of the time and has been at home during the niocest parts of the last year.

All those "californians" moving to other states are the ones that moved into cali in the last couple of years that could not take it and have moved on (only the plate is really from cali).

Out my office window: other buildings and 98, no view (unless you count that chick walking her dog).

Today in SW Missouri it was 92 with 80% humidity. Eugh.

Sounds like someone needs a hug or a change of job maybe both.

Oh and the weather in Australia pisses all over the lovely weather you guys get. hehe

you think thats hot? when i was in mexico about ten years ago, it was hitting around 120 with about that humidity. we were in tulum and i think it was closer to 130 that day.

i like it hot, so for me, 92 and 80% is comfy, hotter is better.

here where i live... its actually a lot like what ranken said... we pray that the good weather hits on the weekends. it never does though... some sort of sick sense of humour. i hope especially hard because that not only means i can get a good tan, but that also means i can get out on the boat and kill myself on our 9 foot deck tube (if you've seen those videos of that guy getting airborne on this big tube... thats what we have, and it most definitely will do that... speaking from experience).

you know... i had a point to make, but now i forgot.

I'm a cave dweller. 62 degrees = happy.

I don't like anything over 85. Ever. Humid or not.

I work in IT as a pc grunt. It's not a bad gig and it pays for my schooling and living.

As for people, I prefer to be alone 80% of the time. It allows me to do what I want on my own timeframe. Often people waste my time and I don't have much to waste.

I might have formulated myself ill. What I meant was that research, shopping and naming the child takes time. Not that I mind, it's just that when you go out to find somthing, you don't really know what you need, so you end up with three alternatives, buying neither and going back home to scan for better prices / look up safety details etc. On top of that, we have the option of using my sister-in-laws stuff (they have a one-year-old), but they can't make up their minds on which of their stuff we can have...

However, it is rather fun, and I'm looking forward bringing a kid up, getting to play with lego and computers and stuff, legitimetly, YAY!

Little off topic: (sorry mods) Does anyone know that lego uses VR systems to design some of their kits? In the VR world they have setup, you have unlimited access to any lego part and when done it prints out the parts list for the factory to pull.
