I was planning on doing my first case mod and the idea hit me. Why not do it on one of the most addicting and fun games I have played!

So I started playing around with the idea of a case themed after Counter-Strike. After a couple of days desgining I came up with theses sketches.

After a couple hours on SketchUp, i came up with this as a design.

from another angle....

one more....
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/7979/2576/1600/counter-strike_casemod03.png

the pictures of the CS model will be molded into the side of the case as shown in the picture bellow from another case on TBCS....

The words "Counter Strike" are going to be cut out of the case. Then I will place a piece of sanded down acrylic behind it. I plan on placing a 12in cold cathode behind it to illuminate it at night. I plan to do the same thing for the CS logo on top. Im still deciding what color the light is going to be, thats up for discussion.

Thing is im not going to do a worklog unless a significatant amount of people are intrested in seeing one. So ill wait for feedback, otherwise ill just take pictures of the final product and post it in project galleries.
If you have any suggestions or questions, dont hesitate to post.

cool, looks good. BTW for those who can't see the pictures, just go to the url's. I think its because they are .png. Or blogger.com may not support offsite links or something. Not sure which it is, but you might want to try www.photobucket.com or imageshack.us

She sounds lucky.

I was going to suggest you use these Clicky (http://www.pccasegear.com/prod1374.htm).

You can buy them in other places online but that was the first place I thought of.

If you do mod a case for your sis remeber to do a worklog for us. :)

yeah that fan grill looks nice, but i found a cheaper one here.http://www.crazypc.com/products/CPC8000.html

heck yeah im gonna do a worklog for my sister's modded case. I was acutally thinking of starting a new log from that case. I need time to think about the counter-strike case, I feel I can do something better than what I got right now.

Damn, that's a good drawing dude. We need more modders that plan their mods like what you did.

wow, thanks man. the reason this project has been slow is because my sister's digital camera is in austin (with her):( , and i dont want to make any mods on the case with out taking pictures. So I have to wait 2 weeks or so till she comes into town. :D

By a cheap o' dispoable camera and use that then take it to your photo processing place and get them to put the photos on CD for you.

What mods are you doing to your sis's case.

well i could just take pics, develop them and then scan them with my scanner. But Im still in the planning stages of this project. Im thinking of scratching the whole CS theme and doing something different. Plus the digital camera will be in my hands in about 4 days...so I can wait. :D

The case that I was thinking about making for my sister is going to be scratch built. The theme will be a space shuttle launch pad and the preliminary sketches goes as follows..

ill make a sperate worklog for when i get started on that project...

feedback is welcome :D

Your skills with the pencil are amazing.

Very nice.

For spotlights you could use those led ones I have em set they are very nice. I have them on my case currently the antec in my sig.

Looks simple to build but a great mod.

Thanks, it was a quick sketch of ideas that I had in my mind and wanted to get down on paper.

yeah I was thinking of using super bright while leds to shine light on the shuttle in the night. I was looking around for scale models of space shuttle and I found a couple for 15-20 bucks.
If any one finds any models of a shuttle can you please post the URL on this thread, thanks :D

I was thinking of making the tower and frame of the case out of aluminum.

my sister will be in town with her digital camera tomorrow.......

I plan on posting the pics of the case that I bought and will showcase the new plans with a new title for this thread....

Im abandoning the CS theme mainly because its been done before.
