Upgrading Proc, need to reinstall windows?

Hey guys, i soon hope to upgrade my AMD 3200+ to a X2 processor probably 3800 version, now if i do upgrade the processor will i need to reinstall windows?

If i do need a reinstall is there anyway of keeping programs on the hard drive so i dont have to reinstall?

You shouldn't have to unless you change your motherboard i think...could be wrong though.

no i think u can pretty much just hotswap cpu's

i dont mean to sound like an ass, but hotswaping refers to changing a component while the computer is actually running. USB is an example of this. it couldnt hurt to reinstall after switching out such a major component, but like dave and simon said, i dont think its needed.
