this is the sketch up showroom, this is a good place to find and show sketchup cases, parts, hardware, switches, and just about anything someone is willing to design...

if you do not currently have sketchup, you can get it here:
http://sketchup.google.com/images/logo_SUfG.gif (http://sketchup.google.com/)

when making a drawing please do it to scale and allow other users to be able to recieve the actual sketchup drawing from you.

Send them to me, and i'll handle the hosting. Send them to warndave@googlemail.com as i have a larger inbox there.

Then i'll post back with some links, or something along those lines.

What a great idea. I love sketchup, and with these tutorials and pre-made objects, it will save me time and I can do more. Thanks!

you can also use the 3D warehouse by Google to host your SKP files:

Just a warnning: both the metal face and the acrylic overlay use nested cylinder cutouts that eat up a ton of CPU. You might need to drop into flat color mode (instead of texture mode) to actually move it around. With my 3.73EE it's fine, so anyone with something equiv should have no problems.

Until you start doing Sketchup models of this size at which point even a 3.6EE with 4 Ghz of RAM has a hard time keeping up...:)

Sketchup is free (hope you are not too cheap for that! ;-) ). Pretty short learning curve too. Easier to use than 3dsm or maya.

i know its free just learning another program always gets annoying whilst trying to learn others like flash and 3dsm

4GB...my bad...tired yesterday. The file size was about 12mhz...uh I mean 12 MB :) I have the pro version here at work which I use a lot. I learned the program in about a week (Take the 3D Studio!) The model we did was two people for about 4 days. Good times.

Forget using 3DSM altogether...this program has an extremely fast learning curve (I learned it in about a week), and if you can get you hands on the pro version it exports out to CAD...rendering isn't the best but you can get 3rd party software for that...I have used AutoCAD, Microstation, Lightwave, 3D Studio, 3D Studio Max, Rhinocerous, and DataCAD for 3D and this is by far the quickest and easiest...and honestly fun program I have used.

Of course that's opinion...so take it as far as you want.:)

Careful. Saying things like that will get you a short holiday away from these boards.

Maybe a longer one behind bars.

I could use sketch up eve if it has a quick learnign curve although, i wouldn't mind going into animation or game designing later in life and programs like £DSM and Maya are used instead of Sketchup
