i was just thinking about a computer design that would be similar to a laptop but have the power and some customizable features like partial higher end video. ill get some sketches drawn out to show you guys...

Do you mean like using a Small Form Factor case and putting an LCD screen on it so that it flips up?

i got most everything planed out except the powersupply.. i need a small form factor but i need to power the lcd too.

You could just make a box for your PSU and have it externally.

I remeber there were some really small 300w psu you could buy can't remember what brand. Maybe you could use two of em to power it and have them internal.

i will plan out a way to make an adaptor for the pci slot for video card and for a pc to pcmia slot

i found a keyboard/touchpad i will use... and a low profile 500 watt psu

i also need to find a topload drive bay..
would i be able to convert this (http://www.teac.co.jp/dspd/product/optical/cd-210pu.html) to dvd+-RW and to ide or sata

yes i have seen towers in the box, but mine will be everything in the box, a fully self sufficiant machine

I was going to do this a couple of years ago but the project got scrapped due to budget issues. Anyway, they make lots of types of riser cards for the different slots to keep you video card etc parallel to the mobo. There are even flexible riser cards. just google "*type of* riser card" and you should be able to find one if you need one. Just be sure to keep airflow in mind.
