Ok.. here's what I got going on. I'm starting a small hosting company. So far, I will have 1 server located in a data center in Dallas, redundant internet circuits, battery backup, generator, 99.9% uptime. Sorry Scotty, nothing free, but our prices will be very reasonable, and we will also be offering site design. I'm just trying to get a feel of who needs what and how soon. Maybe if demand is enough, I'll place my order sooner rather than later.

Damn nowhere gives good bandwith for free :( then again i could always pay for a site :S eh..

Although Unlimited bandwith is great not many company's offer it. 99.9% uptime is always a good thing :D

If you offer FTP and and your prices are reasonable I'm in. Does unlimited bandwith mean unlimited transfers or unlimted space. If not how much space allowance.

Good question Simon. I can do FTP for you no problem. Unlimited bandwidth means unlimited transfers. I'm working up a price sheet for space allowances. How much space do you think you will need?

**Keep in mind, my server is not live yet..

Im intrested. I have no credit card but can pay with pay pal. I Have lots of hi-res images and would need a bare minimum of 50mb for pics alone, Probly 25mb for my kick arse site, and another 25mb for ****s and giggles. So i'd need roughly 100-150-200mb for my basic html site. Another 100mb if i was to use php or asp.

Would we get our own database or would we have to "share"?
What about CGI scripts?
What are the server specs?
ASP, FrontPage?

Cana-Balsitic,

Thanks for the interest man. Well, you all have definitely made me want to order the server now.. problem is, I can't start operating under my corporation for about 4-6 weeks. I'm going to see what I can do about fixing that.

Server specs:
2.4 Ghz dual Xeon server
2 gigs ram
120Gb HDD x 2 (IDE)
Red Hat Ent 4.0
cPanel with fantastico
multiple redundant internet circuits (OC-48's)
battery backup, generator on site (we can run on batteries for about a week before firing up the generators)

I'm trying to finalize prices tonight. I'm not ordering SQL services right away, but if there's more interest, I'll reconsider.

** Edit **
Yes, I can support Front Page, CGI for Linux, and ASP for Perl scripting.

For those that might not know, an OC-48 is equal to 48 T3's (or DS3), and runs at 2.5 gigabits per second. 1 T3 is equal to 28 T1's.

Sure, you can point that to me, once I'm up. I can also take care of registering your domain for you. I got pricing down, so anyone who's interested, PM me your E-mail address, and I'll send it out to you.
