I'm considering using a sheet of plexi for the mobo tray in my current project. What would you guys say is a safe minimum in thickness? I saw that Defyant used 8mm for his HPResIII Mega. Should it be at least that thick or could it safely be any thinner? Thoughts? Comments?
I haven't worked with or really used plexi before so I'm not familiar with how strong it is for a given thickness.
Now are you talking about a tray to hold the mobo or just a shield over it? If you mean to hold the mobo then I would say about 1/4 inch would be the best. I think that should be about 5 mm right? Anything thinner isn't sturdy enough.

I would agree that 1/4" is fine for a mother board tray. It is a little over 6mm.
I think the US messurment for Defyant would be ~3/8"
