I found an XFX GeForce 6800XT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150157) at newegg.com. I am thinking about ordering it as my eVGA GeForce2 MX400 is not cutting it, in gaming, or Photoshop. I really don't know a lot about graphics cards, I just know they process signals and convert those signals into video signals and the monitor displays those signals on it's screen. I also don't really know how much to pay for a good card, but with the card at a cheap price. With this forum being a bunch of case modders, gaming junkies, and the like, I ask you, is $136.99 (plus $15 mail-in rebate) a good deal for the XFX GeForce 6800XT?

You can get the exact specs of the card by clicking the link at the beginning of the post.

Also, this is my first post here...I feel special.

I've searched eBay, and only saw $180-$220 range.
Also searched froogle and found a card exactly the same, except the model and max resolution. The card sells for $128.99 (XFX Geforce 6800XT PVT42KVDE3 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150163&ATT=14-150-163&CMP=OTC-Froogle)) Not sure why such a drop in price though:?

See the seller's feedback and the $25 shipping fee!!

Besides the $25 shipping, I couldn't use that cart anyways. I don't have a PCI-e motherboard, it seems to happen when you buy all the parts for your computer before PCI-e comes out:(
Also..the price on the newegg.com card went down to $129.99 :)

well if thats the case, and you dont have a pci-e slot, youll prolly have to resort to getting an agp version of a 6600 or 6800, or something in that range. but make sure you have an agp slot that can handle agp8x graphics cards. i have a feeling that since the card you have now is rather dated, the rest of the system may be as well

That's the entire reason I was looking at the 6800XT card, it is AGP 4x/8x and will work on my system. (atleast the card that I linked to is, not sure if there is a PCI-e version of it)
And the reason I posted it here was because I didn't know if that was a good price, or if I could get it cheaper somewhere else.

From best buy, I bought a BFG Tech Geforce 6800 OC for 99.99. Oc stands for overclocked. It coems overclocked out of the box with 256 video ram. It plays oblivion on highest detail almost flawlessly. For 99.99 its the best card you are going to get. Other then that, I suggest PCI cards, not PCI-e but pci. There also cheaper then agp, and some of them are as strong as the agp ones. But the BFG tech 6800 is the way to go.
