Somebody here should mod one into a computer case, that would be pretty awesome for LAN parties:

First Guy: "Check out my new keyboard/case mod"
Second Guy: [Searches Case] "Where's the keyboard?"
First Guy: [Turns computer and keyboard on] "Right here"
Second Guy: [Jaw drops to floor]

It does look really cool, but I for one like the touch of keys pressed on a keyboard. I think hitting the table with my fingers would feel really wierd.

You make a good point. Its cool looking but I would take a normal keyboard anyday. Unless it was free. Then I would take the infrared keyboard :P

You know, as cool as it looks, I really don't think it would be very useful, unless you were just trying to impress the yuppies at a Starbucks. Without physical feedback provided by an actual keyboard, it would get veyr difficult to use, and from what I understand, your fingertips actually get pretty sore from tapping on a hard surface for extended periods.

Yea, So in other words its a WOW effect with people but thats about it. Still might be cool in a mod though. I wonder if you could make one of those glass desk computers with this? Probably not though.. unless you mounted it on top or something... okay I'm just gonna shut up now cuz all thats coming out of my noise hole is exactly that. Noise. :D

What if you projected the keyboard onto a soft surface like a thin gel pad? This would look awsome coming directly out of a case but just not worth the price tag IMO.

Yea... the price tag is just a freaking pos! lol But if you can afford it and dont mind tapping on things.. which might get annoying after awhile then I say go for it and try to mount it to a case or something? Lol you wont believe where I found this product!? PIMP MY RIDE! LOL! I actually get quite a few ideas from that show :P

That VR keyboard was brought up on these boards a couple months back and it still doesn't impress me. Its been for sale at thinkgeek.com for a while.
The idea of holding your hands in the air and having no 'home' key sensation would slow any touch typer down.

It migh be usefull for a road warrior or LAN partyer who wants full size keys but not the bulk of keyboard, but for day to day use its not going to cut it.
