Heya, came across this site a few days ago and saw some interesting stuff. I just got my new computer and case, and am wanting to give it a real nice look. Its a Tt Kandalf, looks great as it is, but really want to make it look even nicer. Right now I'm painting the inside of the case a flat non-reflective black. On the outside, I'm contemplating doing sanding/painting for a mirror finish. Or, the Duplicolor Mirage stuff because that sounds very nice.

So, question time:
Sound a bit too ambitious for someone who hasn't used spray paint all that much?
More importantly what I'm looking for is the mirage to go black to blue, but the kits only do specific combos. Anyone have any experience with this stuff and would it be possible to mix and match?

Thanks, any help will greatly be appreciated.

no its not possible to mix and match mirage paints.
the dye in the paint works like a small prism. It gets the colors by reflecting and refracting light at specific color frequencies (hues).
These are the color they offer...
http://www.duplicolor.com/products/mirage.html the purple/green one might be close to what you want.
Its hard to tell what its like except in person. Stop by an automotive shop and see if the have a sample they could show you before buying it.

Bah oh well, just gonna have to go with either black or a midnight blue-ish color I guess. Thanks for clearing this up, I figured it wouldn't work but wanted to ask first to make sure.

I don't know if this mirage paint is anything like the rage paint I have available to me at the moment. But if it is, you'll be painting a flat basecoat colour, then applying the special fx paint over the top. While you have to leave the fx stuff pretty much alone (or it just wont work) you CAN play with the basecoat colour and it can make a serious difference to the final outcome.

Um, no - Rage Extreme paints are a professional car product with a recommended retail of between $300 and $800 per litre....

Haha, yeah, figured as much. I checked their website and saw some high prices, but was hoping something else was there I wasn't seeing. Oh well, the way I'm gonna do it is gonna look real nice regardless.

Thanks again.
