Question about modeling/making something look like stone.

Been looking over the mods and what not on this site among others and I finally find I have some time to do something I've wanted to do for a while. I've got the general idea of what Iwant to do just not sure on materials.

So...

What is the plastic board stuff thats used to make the custom cases out of?

What is the best stuff to make something look like stone? Bondo is what I'm thinking of trying but I'd like a little input.

Also, if I place a 17" LCD inside of a case with a pc is heat build up a big issue?

Basically what I'm going to do is build a stone structure with a pc inside of it, based on a WoW theme. I'm very skilled with wood and wood work so I could use that but if the plastic stuff I've seen used in mods like the ones here works better and is lighter I'd rather use that as I'm guessing this thing is going to get heavy lol.

You can start with mono foam (insulating foam in a can) and build your basic shape. You can file that into somthing close to what you want. Then apply bondo over top and smooth it out.

The foam base should cut down on weight by a few ton :D

i was going to say to just use concrete : )

with the 17" monitor... it depends if you are running a gaming system that generates a lot of heat.

then again it also depends. are you going to watercool?

if your going to watercool then dont worry about the heat, hell hoow some sweet watercooling system up to the monitor.

if you can run the wires for the monitor (im guessing flat panel standard monitor)
to the plug inside of the psu for 110V in.

and if you have a wireless card!!!!

wireless keyboard and mouse.. ooh!

the possibilities are endless!

a rock with a display and a single cord running out otherwise totaly self sufficient!!
