I am fully aware that agp is almost completely phased out, but do you think they will make a series of agp cards for vista when it comes out? I'm wondering this because I bought a system right before pci-e exploded onto the market and I'm wanting to keep my agp system. Unfortunately I have a "loaner" card in right now that I never got rid of and I'm wanting to save up and buy the best agp card out there which is an overclocked 7800gs. I was just wondering if the 7800gs is THE final series of agp cards? Oh btw, PLEASE check out my project worklog and post something lol.

I have a 6800gt it still runs good.
I'm not going to update to vista untill a I get a new computer with PCI express and a graphics card a bit better then my 6800gt. And that will probably happen in like a years time.

I would guess that they will be making agp cards for a couple of years. Heck they still make pci cards and how long has agp been around?

They stopped manufacturing AGP a few months ago infact. Yes x1600 is the latest from radeon and the 7800 is from nvidia. Im ganna end up replacign my 6600 oc with a 7800 soon.

Yeah, I'm going to keep this one a LAN rig to show off the mod, so I don't need super top of the line everything. One day I will get another home-based gaming rig with vista and everything, but for my LAN rig, I still want the best agp card out there, which looks to be a KO3 edition oc 7800gs from EVGA.
