Remove the SPAM, that is. Normally Rankenphile gets it but as he's at PAX, and i'm 8 hours ahead of you Americans, you might have to put up with it more often over the next couple of days. Chances are, i'll have it removed by the next morning.

I agree, you guys do a great job, no worries about the timezone delay...

I would rather be in scottland right now anyway (although I did miss the international festival)(not sure if that is the right name, it has been many years).

The SO and I are looking at a trip through the Loch's next year. One of the best days in Scottland was spent in Drumnadrocket at the Killgore Farms B&B, right on the shore of Loch Ness. We skipped all the touristy stuff and instead visited the Graveyards and hiked around the Loch. No Monster Bar for me...

sounds almost like what happened to a friend of mine that went to pax...

went there to meet up with a girl hes been talking to for some time now...as he called her his "wife" that he never met.....but went up there to meet her...she just happened to break up with him a week before he left to go there

he said pax was still fun.....i woulda gone...but i didnt want to be stuck in a car for 3 days driving with them...

and dave.....you do a wonderful job on moderating.....will you be my hero?

lol well I dont see the comparison other than pax and girl. I actually MET her before I decided to ask her out. We had french (ooh la la) class together for a year. Just thought I would say that so people dont think I internet date :D But I have to admit... that sounds like a friggen funny story! :p

Agreed, We have some of the best moderators around! I went to this other site the other day (NVR AGAIN!) and the head moderator dude had a picture of some cheesey looking porn chick. On top of that he didnt know didedly about some of the basics! I think his question was "What are clock speeds"?

That will teach you a lesson children to never stray from the dazling castle of light, tech knowledge, and good mod's that is TBCS!

i suppose i will publicly state that i am also quite happy with these forums. nothing but complaints... i mean... the other ones... those non-complaints. the only way things can get any better is if i had mod powers... better for me anyways... scary for anyone else.

and dave.....you do a wonderful job on moderating.....will you be my hero?

ill be your hero if you want. you can follow me around and ask for autographs, and try to help me fight crime but just get in my way...

i believe being a hero consitutes wearing innapropriate clothing that is way too tight, and of course wearing your underwear on the outside. if that's generally accepted to be true, im half way there already, because im wearing my old grade 6 graduation suit right now, and i cant get the pants up past my knees.

Ok guys, getting creepy in here. Enough with the underwear conversations and hero roleplay.

If anyone's ever in Scotland and comes by Glasgow (chances are you will) i'm always open to meet up and grab a drink. I'll show you around and point out the various places you will get mugged-then i'll show you the meaner areas of the city if you're feeling dangerous.

Interesting point: Apparently, a surver showed that Glasgow was actually the murder capital of Europe last year (In cities). But it's citizens feel the safest in Europe. How's that for messed up?

Seriously though, if you're ever in the neighborhood, send me an e-mail. No-one around here talks about modding. No-one.

Join the club. Most of my friends are gamers. Not hardware people.

I will be in england and scotland early next year I might just drop you a line.

Very very few of my friends knows pc's at all, and almost all of the ones who do(3) all do so for a job and don't care about them outside of work.

I'm planning a tour of europe with an old high school friend of mine after he gets out of the navy, I might take you up on that tour.

Sounds like detroit.

I think we are seeing that we all have a lil more in common than just modding. We dont really have any friends that are crazy like us lol. I guess thats why I love tbcs! We are like one big happy family! :D

Heh I like the metaphor

Though a few black sheep move into the family but they pretty soon get kicked out again.

Also I noticed MitaPi that you joined the forums at the same time as me but you have 350 posts. I then looked at your profile
"Total Posts: 350 ( 9.92 posts per day)"
I can see why.

... except me... haha... im so black, im like a black hole sheep. if you arent careful, ill suck you all in with my powers of badness. im an evil hero, if thats at all possible.

as for having crazy friends... ive got a few. most people think im crazy too. my grade 11 french teacher was conviced that im suicidal, and my grade 12 chemistry teacher thought i was a complete idiot (and rightly so) because i was always going on about magetizing chickens and stuff like that.

you know... i think the thing i like most about this place aside from having things in common with everyone is the fact that this isnt the real world. the real world sucks... people always telling you what to do and how to do it and when to do it. here, i have the capability to be about as retarded as i want, or as outrageous as i want, or absent minded as i want... without fear of losing a job or making a bad impression. when im not bound by the conventions of reality... things are always much better.

The internet is great for destroying distance, allowing ideas, and having a different type of communication than personal contact.

The real world has some wonderful aspects to it that the internet doesn't have.
It also has some rather craptastic aspects. Expect both the good and the bad from any system.

In both systems it's human contact and a sense of community. We're all here because of a similar hobby. It wouldn't be possible in many cities to have this many modders communicate the way we do here.

So thank you ARPAnet for letting me get my nerd on 7 days a week.
