Another annoying LCD question - but its short

Well, I have seen some of the questions posted about some of the portable gaming consoles and their use of the LCD screen in them, but I was wondering what the general use of them would be in a compter?
I can understand the use of a touch style screen as it would make for a pretty slick 2nd desktop, and it ties in to the OS of the system.
What use would a portable gaming system LCD screen be to mod into a system, and would it require a Vidcard that supports tv out?

I intend to use mine as a status screen using samurize. Got it ready to put into my HTPC. Here is the screen I have produced.

A lot of people use it to display winamp info, game stats, etc.
