Alright, I'm still buying parts for my computer, and I want to know what would be overkill for my system. The 2 PSUs I'm looking at are the Ultra X-Connect 500W and the Hiper modular PSU (forgot the exact name). Anyways, the Hiper one is 580W and the Ultra one is 500W. I don't plan on having too much extra crap needing power, just my cold cathodes, some fans, and maybe a fan controller. If I got the Ultra, I could save $40 (yay!), but I don't want to have to buy a new PSU in 6 months because I was being cheap and didn't pay the extra $40 for 80W more. Should 500W be enough?

500w would probably be enough, but read this (http://legitreviews.com/article/348/1/) article, most specifically the Ultra psu info. It's not the same model, and I don't know what you're specs will be, but...go with a good quality one. Please.

This (http://legitreviews.com/article/368/1/) is an update to it, as well.

So, Hiper is the way to go? It's gotten great reviews, so I think I'll go with my origanal plan and get that. Thanks for the help!

If you're just air cooling, you could go lower. Mines only 250 watts (lol leave me alone:p .)and it runs Gfx Cards and extra fans and 2 HDDs

It depends on what kind of rig your running. SLI & Crossfire are usually recomended to have a 500w and up psu
