Thats the one thing I can never find, where do you get those backround images? I always end up making mine from scratch, and I can't get cool effects like those...

Thoes are all made from scratch aswell. When i first started out the only thing i could really do was abstract art. I was roughly 13 when i started. 21 now. Im more into websites and wallpapers than sigs. But i give it my best.

I wish I could do stuff like the sigs you guys are posting. You use PhotoShop, right? Anybody here use GIMP? I could sure use a good lesson on making sigs and stuff.

I use PhotoShop 7. I had CS 8 & 9 but i perfer 7.

Use tutorials. Use various techniques from a bunch of tutorials, think of a topic or theme, and go to town. Thats the easiest way to jump into it.

You also have to deside which medium your going to start with. web page, wallpaper, sigs, art, ect, ect, ect.

I've a better idea. I've been sending out PMs to folks but everyone seems to be interested in this, so i'll just make this Public.

I've been trying to put together some collections of Backgrounds for TBCS and modding in general, ones that are Dual-Screen friendly, friendly to funny resolutions, etc. etc.

Would love for you guys to direct your talents in that direction instead. Some guidelines:

1) Leave dark/light low contrast zones for icons
2) Try and make your images at least 2560*1024 or 1280*1024 for single monitors. You can make triple monitors if you feel really saucy.

You can e-mail them to me and i'll host them on the TBCS server. That way we won't have the links die at a later date. If you post them here, i'll copy them into another thread at a later date. All credit will be given to the artists too.

Anyway, hope this gives you something productive to do while you're all supposed to be modding. Hope to see some good results.

Also apologies to everyone whom I PM'd, still want you guys to do this though!

What program do you use? If you don't have any yet, I would suggest GIMP. It's pretty deep, for being free. Do a Google seach for "windows gimp" and download GTK and GIMP for Windows. You should find a site with both.


Edit: Never mind, I'll just give you the link (http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html). It tells you everything you need to do to get GIMP on Windows.

The question wasn't anything to do with Piracy, so it's ok. Photoshop is not free but GIMP is and has many of it's features. The only feature that gives Photoshop the edge is the ability to make batch droplets and the magic wand tool.

I might suck at photoshop, but I still know how to use it ;)

EDIT: Oh, and if anyone makes a small image that might be helpful to other guys...share it! I'll host if you need me to.

I don't know what this is supposed to look like, but GIMP has something that looks like a magic wand, and it is used to "Select Contiguous regions".

Plus, the icon for it is awesome... Smiling dog thing... :D.

I havent heard anything yet for FMA sequals. But I am sure they will, just got give them time. I've seen sequals for worse shows than that so they would have to be crazy not to. Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex is a good series if you are bored and want a small brain teaser.

Well, you can make your own using some of the provided tools, and then cropping the image, but whenever I do that, it only crops a square around what I selected. :/. But for the Sam Fischer and Dog renders I used, I just went to Google and typed "game renders" and just checked around on the sites that it gave me.
