One idea would be to sleeve the bare wire into a clear tube. Assuming the wire was aluminum it would _look_ similar to a guitar wire.

not wire like the strings you actually play with on a guitar but like the cable u connect from the guitar to the amp

Yes why on earth would you need that wire hooked up no a computer. At radiosack you can fidn adapters that take ar egular speaker wire and make it big as the amp wire.

Thats even easier then. Do like Razor suggested...

Wait, do you just want it to look like a guitar cable, like just plastic black sleeving? Like not have the individual wires from your PSU visible, have them all in one black casing?

Look I'm not trying to be disrespectful, But I mean, You want stuff for no reason. Adding and spending all that time on modding a guitar cable, for no reason is pointless.

if i were you, i would mod my drives to take 1/4 inch mono audio jacks, like the ones used for amp cords, one for 12 and ground and one for 5v and ground. this way you can have a really nice clean look for the plugs, and the cords look just how you want them to, cuz youre using the actual amp cord.

You don't.

Actually, people do it in modding all the time.

I'm trying to find some of the work logs that it was used in. Someone created a little box inside his case with switches on it and audio jacks, like those used for guitar amps. Then, he made flexible LED lights with audio plugs for the power. he just plugged them into the box to control them, it was very well done, there is a tutorial on it floating around somewhere I THINK on bit tech, but I'm not sure. I did some searching and I dunno.

I'll come back here if I find it.

I'm almost positive Defyant did this same sort of thing at one point.

I'll do some digging in a bit.

Wasn't this how Metropolis Red started?

Yes it was. (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2077)

There was a fantastic cube mod done a couple years ago - the guy who did that replaced all his fan/led connectors with 3.5mm jackplugs n sockets - was all alu and white - damned if i can remember the name of it tho.

Actually tryin to ANSWER the original question... It's a two stage process. First of all you have to sleeve your cables - Vantec do a range of cable sleeving kits in various colours. The second part is a lil more complex - you need to buy the components - jack plugs, sockets, etc, and re-wire the connectors into them - needs a bit of soldering, but it can be done. As for using two for each cable, not strictly required as you can get jack plugs with more than 2 or 3 terminals on them - although I'm not sure how much current they'd take, or how much damage you'd do if you tried to plug/unplug them live *thinks about a 12v rail crossing two grounds and a 5v (ouch)

Not to sound off topic here, but the size of the tip, _should_* keep things from shorting.

Tybrenis, are you referring to this?

He used stereo plug thingies with his "junction box".

Yeah I was gazing at it this morning and kinda blocked. I also almost forgot that I had to pick someone up at the train station. :o

It's fascinating, sweet colors, original look, those gauge meters. :o It's all wonderfully done.

Just place colored tubing ( I got a Fender Cali Cable ) around the wire. Or even go the next level and place a nylon fiber tube around the wires and then put a colored (green, blue, etc.) tube around that to look like an authentic guitar amp cord (at least in my perspective).
