Inspiration shows up in the weirdest places sometimes. i was browsing images of the works of H. R. Giger just now, and ran across a really interesting paint job on a car, im not a car guy so instand of painting you a mental picture i'll give you a link.

I've always wanted to do a Giger themed case, especially because a real world example of some of his peices that only exist in 2-D images would look amazing. I've seen Alien themed case mods before, but nothing that seemed to be primarily influenced by other works of his.
The thing that the above linked pic brought to my attention was the fact that the combo of Giger's style and blue interior lighting looks very appealing to me. Since all the light is on the inside, it doesn't ruin the monochrome styling on the exterior, and thats the main thing i would have against using colored lighting in the case.
