You could do the same thing with projectors for maybe cheaper. I am looking for a website of a guy that put together a 3 projector display using mirrors and mounting the projectors behind the desk so there is no image shadow. There is also some open source software that will edge blend the images so the line between them is almost imperceptable.

Man one of those would be sick for battlefied 2. You could do it for like $6000 with three projectors along with some smoke and mirrors.
