What are the dangers reguarding UV lighting, all I know is that it causes cancer and that it was banned in Australian Pubs/Clubs years and years ago

Its what they use in tanning salons to tan you, and tanning gives you cancer (how ever low the likely hood is)

anyone got any information that may clear this up?

Trust me, you won't get cancer from a UV tube light. You're exposed to much more radiation than that on a daily basis. UV from a blacklight isn't something to worry about.

you can't get cancer from the UV lights that are in computers. The output is way too low to even heat you up. It's worse to go outside than to sit next to UV ccfls.

Im pretty sure what your thinking of is the old tanning beds. The ones that used heat lamps like what you'd find a Mc.Donalds keeping your food warm. Thoes heat lamps pump out the UV rays.

Tube lights are perfectly fine.

Heat lamps are infrared, not ultraviolet.

There are several wavelengths of UV light, UVA, UVB, and UVC.

UVA has the longest wavelength and is what blacklights emit. It's generally considered fairly harmless, but is thought to cause wrinkles.

UVB can cause skin cancer.

UVC can cause severe burns.
