Just ordered in these.

Compressor (http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=123239&MAN=Sealey-Compressor-50ltr-Direct-Drive-20hp)
Starter Kit (http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=27878&MAN=Sealey-Air-Accessory-Kit-With-Quick-Couplings-5pc)

No more rattlecans for me! Can't wait to get some powered nibblers and an angle grinder too for this baby.

What do you guys think? (Too late now anyway, i've ordered it, but i want to know anyway)

well... judging from the looks of it, the compressor is quite powerful.. then i saw the 2hp.. uu.. nice :)
i looked further at the specs (..mm.. Maximum Pressure: 116psi/8bar) and an idea dawned on me: you could use this to test custom waterblocks :D
..can't wait to see what u'll paint with them.. hmm.. i wonder ;)

Lol...if i could build them, then i could :)

I could stress-test pre-built ones...

I like that compressor, never seen that starter kit though. This is the one I just saw this morning...

And if you want a nibbler...

Don't hurt yourself.
Looks like fun. Set yourself up a painting area and go nuts.

Don't hurt yourself.

I laugh in the face of pain. Then, usually, I double over. Or pick up bits of my hands from whichever power tool i've been using foolishly.

Im worried that your going overboard. Thats a big setup for painting computers. And thoes guns are for area painting, not really meant for fine work.

What you should get is a gravity feed/low pressure/touch up spray gun.

bah, you cant hurt yourself too bad with compressors unless you stick the hose in an innapropriate place... you CAN blow bottles up and stuff like that. me and my brother just took out one of those big watercooler jugs with 160psi the other night. big boom and lots of fun, and plastic everywhere.

the area painting would probably be good for laying down primer or base coats... or candy coats. i would agree that you might want a detail tool as well though, unless you get great satisfaction out of painting everything with a brush.

I used to make industrial grade paints. Thoes guns are good where is doesnt really matter what it looks like so much as you get good coverage on the first coat. You can buy diffrent tips and such but thoes are a hasstle. And it takes quite a bit of paint to fill the pot. 200ml at least before the suction tube in the pot will start sucking paint. And since with a spray gun you have to buy the expensive paints, that tends to get costly when your footing the bill.

Not to mention the huge amounts of solvent it takes to clean one of thoes guns...

gravity feed guns are your very best friend for anything smaller than a car.

I'm actually getting that particular gun to spray the massive amounts of decking we've just got installed in the back garden. I have a smaller airbrush that i can use for detail work. I'm also getting a nice shed to make into my workshop soon, so i want to use the compressor to power air tools like an angle grinder and nibblers. Obviously, i'll use these for all sorts of things, not just modding.

lol I rawk :D

Whats better do you think? With or without? Because for under only 5 dollars I wouldnt mind spending it if it helped even the slightest bit.

Oh and nice new toy you got. ....I hate you ^_^. Do you have one of those room thingy's already or are you going to build one? Or do you think you will be fine without one?

Being honest, i'd go without it. It puts strain on the wrist. We used to use them in my old job to spray pizza dough, but when people started to complain about RSI's, (Repetitive Strain Injuries) they were quickly withdrawn.

I'm getting a massive shed in my garden. What a man does in his shed is holy. ;) (This might be a british thing. We haven't got as much free space as you Americans, and a man's shed is his holy place. I believe there's a bestselling book called 100 things to do in a shed.)

Having a detached garage is pretty much the ultimate workshop, so it really depends on the size and definition of a shed.

Who would buy a book on 100 things to do in a shed?

I would actually... Why not? It might be momentarily interesting! ^_^

I have a 20 gallon air compressor. It works great for cutting stuff and I'm going to get a detailers gun later.

I'm getting a 60x60 hopefull before the year is out. Its a dual story deal... like its on a side of the hill... so you can pull around to either the lower half or the upper half. Its pretty cool, I cant wait! :)
