Im sure its already been done plenty off times but.....

has anyone modded a case so that it was upside down...so when looking at your hardware preferable SLI video cards, you can actually see the pictures and emblems on them?

im actually thinkin about crafting me up something... but does anyone think its worth the trouble just to see your video cards the way they should be seen???

'Tis called a BTX case, you can buy antecs and Lian-Li's like that and also quite a few others

Google it, you'll see, upside down mobo (and instead of being on the right wall it's on the left) and PSU at the bottom

=D

Isnt the CM Stacker BTX or "upside down"?

That sure would be nice wouldnt it? WHY DO THEY MAKE GRAPHICS CARDS WITH THE PICTURE ON THE WRONG SIDE?? ...dumb. lol

the stacker can be switched to either way you want it

Im glad other feel the same way as me...its weird why they make the graphics on the cards like that..maybe thats the only way it can go?

Thoes standards were set before there was anything to see but micro chips. They could flip it around but it wouldnt match the expansion slot on the case.

Hey it makes sense now! Duh! -Slaps forehead-

Yea, when they first started making GPU's they didnt have cool pictures.. lol well now we do so they need to fix that! Without BTX would be cool too lol.

well it wasnt about the cool pictures... when the dudes incharge made everything, they were like... let this be known as atx. and we shall make it so you cant see those lil' pictures..
no.no.. the chips did not need cooling fans.. as the chips werent so powerful... then as they progressed they needed cooling and you know how commercial entities work... they need to slap their picture or logo on everything... and what better place than the large, flat and smooth aluminum air shield...
you know

Instead of BTX, you could invert your ATX motherboard tray. Look at the Lian-Li cases if you don't know what I am talking about.

Update/Rant:
BTX doesn't mean it has to be on the other wall. In the Thermaltake cases, the ATX/BTX cases have the motherboard tray on the same wall (the right wall). If the BTX motherboard tray is on the right wall, you will still not see the picture on the GPU. ATX or BTX, both depends on what wall it is at.

Here is a picture from Thermaltake (http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/product/Chassis/fulltower/armor/va8000swa.asp) to help you visualize it. Around the middle of the page and under "Compatible with ATX and BTX. Notice how Thermaltake still has the motherboard tray on the right side.

Think of BTX this way, they took the ATX design and moved the different components around the board.

Here is an Intel BTX motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.asp?Image=13%2D121%2D285%2D01%2Ejpg%2C13 %2D121%2D285%2D02%2Ejpg%2C13%2D121%2D285%2D03%2Ejp g%2C13%2D121%2D285%2D04%2Ejpg%2C13%2D121%2D285%2D0 5%2Ejpg%2C13%2D121%2D285%2D06%2Ejpg%2C13%2D121%2D2 85%2D07%2Ejpg&CurImage=13%2D121%2D285%2D01%2Ejpg&Type=OPENBOX&Description=Open+Box%3A+Intel+BOXD955XCSLKR+Socket +T+%28LGA+775%29+Intel+955X+BTX+Intel+Motherboard+ %2D+OEM).
Looks like they swapped the IO ports and the PCI slots, among other things.

So you would have to invert (put the motherboard tray upside down on the left side) for both ATX and BTX to show the picture on the video card. Basically, it doesn't matter if it is ATX or BTX, it is in the motherboard tray placement in the PC case.

I hope I did my research right. :p This is confusing because I never built one so I visualized myself building one.

the reason you cant see the pictures is because the fans need to be on the top. heat rises.

actually, i think i just confused myself, cos on my pc, the GPU heatsink is on the bottom.

i dunno then, maybe its cos a beige fan would look crappy.
