Carbon Fiber basic questions..

I know a few people have used carbon fiber on projects and I was thinking and looking at using it with my next project. Plus I looked at the Sphere idea here on this section as well as they talked about using CF on that as well.

Has anyone used vacum pressing with CF and does it make it stronger?

how do you know what thinkness you would need (Formula?) to be the same as 1.5mm think Alum? (thinking about 1.7oz Kevlar based Fiber satin weave).

What's the difference between true carbon fiber (http://www.ultralightcomposites.com) and plain carbon fiber?
My friend and I were looking at motorcycle goggles and some of them say "true carbon fiber" and some say "carbon fiber"..... What's the difference?

It can mean a lot of things. My assumption:

-Some things are dipped in hydro-film or layered with vinyl to LOOK like CF.
-Marketing
-CF items are often fiberglass/plastics with CF outer layers. Perhaps true CF means 100%? Read everything on the packaging... they will surely let it be known.
