Hey all... just starting to get the itch to do more than the occasional, strip down, paint, reassemble and route wires. This is by far one of the best sites as far as actual responses and such... so~
I have an idea to mod a case. With a highly ambitious vision in mind, I want to do it right, all the way through planning and into execution. That being said, I would welcome advice and opinions.
I ripped apart a no-name case I had gotten a year or so ago before I put my rig in a Thermaltake Shark. It is a mid-tower atx case. An hour of de-popriveting later, I had the workings of a raw case.
Now, on to the actual theme/mod:
To honor the amazing work of Bethesda, I want to make an Oblivion mod. I have planned it as a wider than normal case by a few inches to make it possible to house a double wall. The space between the wall of the case and the wall you see externally would be wired for LEDs to light spaces of plexi.
One side of the case would be a professionally printed Oblivion gate, complete with crackling-like lighting effects as cutouts. The sky and the gate itself would look wicked cool, I am thinking.
The other side of the case would be a print of the Imperial City from a distance, where you could see the tall tower and such, with a beautiful sky as the cutout for the plexi and lighting.
I would angle back a normal width front to meet the wider sides and have etched "The Elder" on one side and then "Scrolls IV" on the other of these angled metal pieces (or possibly glowing plexi) and then beneath the power buttons and such (where the intake fan would be) have the game's symbol , the one that looks like pi kinda, in nice glowing lightedness.
I would like to incorporate water-cooling, though I have always been more an extreme air-cooler before.
Anyways... ideas? Comments? Opinions? Suggestions? Tips? Tricks? Screencaps for nomination into the sides of the mod? lol!
