ZOMG, that is the longest runon I've ever seen :p . Saweet, but the steel will be way heavier than aluminum, and it will hold in heat (bad).

The steel won't hold in heat bad. It won't make a difference, temperature wise, because you aren't using it as a heatsink. The hot components won't be making any contact with it. The only way the steel will absorb the heat is if the heat transfers from the component to the air and from the air to the steel. But the airflow from the case fans would solve that.
I also saw a site that compared the two metals with exactly the same case, except on was aluminum and the other was steel. Would anyone by any chance know what site it was? I'll be searching for it and will post it if I find it.

Coyote, what's this "Steal" metal you keep talking about?

I was reading Forever Nights' post and the misspelling of the word "steel" transfered over to my post. :p
EDIT
Found the article which tests aluminum vs. steel cases:

sory i suck at this english, i speak redneck and for heat i am water-cooling the (radio edit) out of so that is the least thing on my mind. As for the part of the steel (i know spelling ill try my best), i have a welder and dont have the aluminum welding add on for it way to much money. the last one i looked at was 400 bucks. that and the tools i have for shaping r meanly for hard steels. i know u think that metal it metal but when doing welding and molding the tools r a little diff from type to type. i build cars for a living, so this is a wall in the park.
p.s. i did say all this in the first draft of this post but me being drugged out of my mind(med's) i did not hit the save botton lol

Get a grip? I doubt that misspelling something over and over is a mistake.
Now, I am not saying that it's on purpose, but more of a lack of knowledge?
Besides, if you actually knew me you'd also know I am very anal about stuff like spelling and punctuation (not particularly grammer, however).

i for one find the spelling mistakes awesome. i dont know why, but i always get a kick out of bad grammar. it has brought me hours of giggling, and sometimes if its tragic enough, i write a good story about it too.
anyways... lets move to this apparent debate over aluminum vs steel. ill just say this. both steel and aluminum cases are enclosures, and separate the inside from the outside. this blocks heat from escaping no matter what. steel wont keep heat in, and aluminum wont help get it out either. the only thing that works in that respect is an open or mesh case. the only thing that is significantly different between aluminum and steel is weight. period. exclamation point. question mark? pound sign...
how about the original question. windows vista... that little cloud of dust. to answer that question... i dont think anyone knows. vista hasnt been released yet, and i dont know when its going to be released. theres always talk about delays, and then talk about bringing the date forward again, and it seems like the attention keeps swirling and swirling into lovely shapes and colours. it might as well be a bunch of interpretive dance. ive stopped paying attention to that stuff, in fact, ive stopped looking at vista for now. hopefully the next thing i hear about it is "in a store near you".
the only things i DO know about vista is that the current hardware out will support it. make sure your monitor is an HDCP monitor (HDCP means high definition content protection). it appears that HDCP is the only thing special thing that vista needs. of course... dx10 will be on vista, but it works with dx9L too, which current cards can handle. you can run vista with dx9L on the video card you have now, and get a dx10 card later.

Ahah you sound like my english teacher.
Anyway you can download a beta verison of vista and see how your computer runs.
On a side note does anyone know wether Vista will come with DirectX 10 or it will be stand alone?

rumor was that dx10 will be added later as a download. i think vista ships with 9L to start with.

..i've beta tested..didn't work.. ran vista rc1.. for 2 days.. it looks great, but also... errm.. s.u.x... why?
my audigy went from 7.1 to stereo.. and that's it.. it works, but no more than that.. vista has anice sound utility to control the sound volume of different applications.. i love that.. but again, i lose 7.1 functionality till creative releases proper drivers..
had to do restores at regular intervals.. it would run for a few hours, then blue screen.. re-booted and worked than shut me out.. i used the win dvd to restore.. then i deleted my user to get full administrator privileges in one account.. and when i rebooted there it was: my user.. no password worked tho, cause i didn't have one.. repaired again.. went to learn and when i came back.. blue screen galore.. each and evry boot, normal or safe mode.. blue.. so i went xp sp2..
no problem till this time tho.. i can perfectly understand lack of driver support and instability.. but! 3dsmax got to about 25% in rendering speed, the d3d driver was very unstabble (has dx9.0c and dx10, although i've seen no difference.. no video board support i guess) and viewports flickered.. the opengl worked, but opengl is not supported by vista.. i installed it separatelly and crossed-fingers.. still, terrible lag in viewports.. unworkable.. i know my rig is crap (i got a 3.4 cpu rating... bad), but with vista it's snail-like.. and it shouldn't.. the visual interface should not influence the rendering process.. and i don't game during rendering...
speaking of gaming: i saw no difference, except the fact that opengl modes were disabled.. d3d works great.. tried cs1.6, cs2, wow, w3.. starcraft is very garbled and only works flawless with win xp compatibility, but the tcp/ip works :)
i have dx9.0c installed in my pc right now.. and in games i see the same performance and effects.. i can't help but wonder what dx10 brings.. (except geometry shaders ;) )

By the time I got to the end of this thread, I had to go back to the first page to remind myself what it was supposed to be about.
Last i heard there were different versions of vista depending on what you want to do with it. I know there's a lot of Beta testers at the minute, but from what i've heard, it's actually a pretty decent OS. Microsoft keep changing huge parts though-like what software it's going to ship with by default (Media Player, etc.).
Also, i've heard they want to drop the whole "Virtual Folders" thing after putting months of work into it...
despite being in constant flux, i've heard the base system is very good. I'm hoping for good things from it.
Hope that helps.

Any good HDCP monitor recommendations?
Im testing vista aswell. I have your basic CRT monitors. Works fine for me...
While using 2 monitors vista keep telling me that my desktop compisition was off and that i was experiencing a performance lag due to it. Turned it off and everything worked fine. There are still HUGE bugs in vista and i havent been able to shut it down with the shutdown option yet as it allways screws up and needs a cold restart. The first thing i noticed was that it asks you for permission to do anything and everything. Quite anoying... It looks good though. I can get the same look with windowblinds so im not going to run to the store when it comes out and get my copy. I'll wait for the first service pack before i even consider getting a licenced copy.
There are other problems i experienced aswell but its been over a week since i last booted with vista. I'll eventually load it again and get the updates and see how it goes from there.
Vista = 2 Thumbs down...

I'm going to wait for the first service pack too. Hopefully the price will also go down. Did you see the pricing on that thing? Man... I don't want to pay that much for an OS. I'm fine with XP Pro and there isn't a game that I really want that is Vista Only.

Well I read this article on Tom's hardware
Windows Vista's eye-candy will cost you at least $160 (http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/08/29/vista_prices_revealed/) Then I went back and read the related articles linked at the bottom.
I have to say it looks like MS is just releasing another over-priced piece of fatware. My god, when you pay $160 - $400 for just the O/S it had better come with some better apps than notepad, paint and minesweeper.

i like vista. i have the shutdown bug aswell. i always get a BSOD during shutdown. and Hibernate screws up. Its a nice o/s, shame ATi dont do proper drivers for radeon 9200. cant wait for it to come out. deffo gonna get ultimate, and upgrade my pc for this case mod. finally, an operating system that will aesthetically match my case.
