ok yall as i have said i build cars for a livingand, im seeing a bad prob with the way yall mix and do the mud(body filler). Usaly rule of thumb is if u have a dot of mud in a circle the hardern should be put on it in a straight line start about 1/4" off the dot and end 1/4" off the other side straight thourgh it, and when mixing it fold it in dont stir it in folding is way faster. i see WHAT some of u r doing and it must take forevery for yalls stuff to dry. that would drive me nuts.
NOW THIS IS TO H?ELP THE NEW PPL THAT R JUST GET STARTED not for everyone i mean to afend anyone by this, im just seeing some and telling yall the way i do it and thats the way i was tot lol. and to be onist there r going to been a lot of (radio edit) i do wrong and i wish to be told about it. i thank everyone that will show me and help on those things, i belive that if we all would lesson to the help everyone give every now and then the world be better off.
p.s, i know about the spelling i'm dislaxea( i think i spelled it right google did not tell me it was wrong lol)
I've found defyant's method of mixing bondo really useful.
As for your spelling, that's fine, just please use some punctuation. It's really hard to know where one sentence stops and another starts.
Thanks for the tips and that's what we're here for.

thats pretty well exactly the way the guy at the body shop where i got my bondo from told me to apply it. i just took his word for it seeing as he works with it all day. it seems to me that alot of things that people to in regards to bodywork on cars also applies here. if you have other tips, definately post them. it might be suggested however to post them in the tips and tricks section. that way people can find it when they need it most by looking in the appropreate directory. thanks for you post :-)

I usually fold it, then press it, repeat
until i get a barely stiff (sort of like a weak clay like consistency) ball of bondo, then I apply it fast, shape it quick, then it's done in like 10minds =D

well i've never used bondo but i have used fiberglass filler. but i put to much hardener haha. i put about 1tsp. to 2.5-3 tablespoons. it was hard just as i finished apply it, so i had to do a lot of sanding.

generally they are mixed at 50:1 ration of filler:hardener. So 1 1/8 of a teaspoon to a cup of filler.
The way I work out how much hardener to use is picture how many boxes of matches would it be. As a box of matches hold 50 matches, I know that for every matchbox worths of filler there is, I need one matchstick size amount of hardener.
Generally the hardener comes out about matchstick size through the tube, and I juts lay out as many hardener "matchsticks" as there is "matchboxes" then mix.
