here are some vandal-proof keyboards made for a kiosk.... but could easily find a home in any of our mods... especially my industry mod (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4050)

I actually quite like how those look. Reminds me of an ATM.

eh... I dont like things that look like ATM's. They remind me of the money I dont have. :(

EDIT:
Although looking at it.. it does look pretty cool!

Those are pretty cool, but how much are they? (Not that it matters, they won't ship to the UK anyway...)

i hate those. they have awful buttons. you have to press them in really far. they have them on the bt internet kiosks.

Vandal proof? Hardly..give me a caulking gun and some silicone sealant and I'll vandalize the hell out of that thing, that being said it does look very slick.

i think a more accurate description would be "mildly vandal-resistant". i wish i had the money to buy one just to see how "vandal-proof" it really is.

in the Uk, they have them out and about. they seem to do a pretty good job. but if you really wanted, you could wreck them. a screw driver, or a lighter n deoderant would finish them pretty quickly.

you... vandals.... :D

The problem with those keyboards is that usually they don't have a Qwerty full layout with all the function keys (Esc included). So you could end with a very prety keyboard but useless for daily use.

In the market there are some ALU small (laptop style) keyboards that could fit in mods better (for the usear at least) and without ruinning any kiosk.

I have one of those alu keyboards. A keysonic ACK-540ALU (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_3003.html)

Had it for about a year. The keys are a little bit "clicky" but not unusable, The laptop style pad is perfect for my purposes. Makes the thing very a very neat package on the desktop. Probably a better solution than the vandal proof ones, the kiosk machines are not really designed for prolongued use.

The keys on it are plastic, and after a year of use I have worn some of the silver paint off of the space bar.

When i worked in the IT department of the Uk police, we ordered one of these for the phone in the front office, it cost £1800, but it was apparently "indestructable".

BTW, im not a pig, i was contracted in.
